Durwill Dennis has led Altex Industries for over 20 years, growing the business from its humble 6,000 ft^2 plant in 2001 to 80,000 ft^2 across 5 properties and 15 acres today. Altex continues to grow in both capacity and capability in shop fabricating and field services divisions, which are a direct result of Durwill’s welding background and previous experience as Plant Manager at GLM (shop & field tank fabricating).  In his spare time Durwill enjoys trail riding, equipment auctions, and taking care of his acreage.

Dave Reich, P.Eng.

Dave Reich is an experienced executive with over 30 years’ experience in heavy industrial fabrication and field services in the oil & gas industry. Dave is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, and an active member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). He has led various departments at Altex Industries, including Engineering, Safety, Quality Control, and Field Operations, all of which build a foundation of operational leadership. In his downtime, Dave enjoys hockey, snowmobiling, and house renovations.

Tim Carlson

Tim Carlson

CFO, Finance and Administration
Tim Carlson has a background in CMA, CGA, and charted financial planning. He joined Altex Heat Exchanger in 1996 and was instrumental in transitioning the company to Altex Industries Inc. under new ownership in 2001. Tim is experienced in the international sales of industrial goods and has previously been a Special Investigations Auditor with Revenue Canada. Tim loves going to auctions and buying undervalued cars and trucks.

Tim Carlson

Tim Carlson has a diverse background that started with seven years in the public sector as an auditor with Revenue Canada. He then moved into the private sector with a controller role that included international sales and joint venture development. Tim joined Altex Heat Exchanger in 1996 and later helped the transition of new ownership in 2001 for the launch of Altex Industries Inc. He has a passion for attending auctions for old cars and motorcycles but being an accountant, he is usually too thrifty to buy anything.

Daren Aubie, CET

Daren Aubie has over 30 years of heat exchanger design, fabrication, and management. Daren joined the predecessor to Altex Industries (Altex Heat Exchanger) in 1995 and was involved in various roles including engineering, design, estimating, sales, and project management, before becoming Vice President Manufacturing Operations in 2018. He is a member of the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta and has held a CET designation since 1999. Daren is an outdoors enthusiast and enjoys camping and 4x4ing.

VP, Field Operations

Mike Garneau, CET

Mike Garneau brings over 25 years’ experience in boilermaker field service experience to our Turnaround and Maintenance division. Mike joined Altex in 2008 and was key to developing our Field Services team and making it capable of handling 400+ person major turnarounds. He graduated Mechanical Engineering Technology from NAIT and has a background in welding. He coaches his son’s basketball team and likes theme parks and superhero movies.

Cal Kveder, P.Eng.

Cal Kveder has over 15 years’ experience in the design, engineering, estimating, and sales of heat exchangers. He joined Altex Industries in 2018 with a focus on developing customer relationships, branding & marketing, and expanding Altex’s product and service lines. Cal completed a Mini-MBA Certificate Program at McGill in 2021. He is an active member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), and is Past Chair at the Alberta Pressure Vessel Manufacturers Association (APVMA). Cal enjoys wrenching on turbocharged sports cars from the 1980’s, 3D-printing, and VR-gaming.
